Residents are expected to be employed at all times while assigned to the Academy of Training Skills. Facility Staff will assist in obtaining gainful employment for all residents. Residents are transported to and from work each day. Each resident is given an alcohol breathalyzer test when returning from work. Drug testing is conducted both randomly and for probable cause on a frequent basis.

Each job offer is investigated to determine if it is bona fide and consistent with program policies and objectives. At all times, public safety shall guide the decision. Taken into account is the resident’s prior training, potential for new training and the highest pay possible for the resident.

Residents are encouraged to develop a habit of saving money, which may assist them during the transition period after completion of the program.
